Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay detection of antibodies against swine influenza virus in western Romania

چکیده
Swine influenza, a respiratory disease that affects pigs of all ages, is caused by type A influenza virus.1 Morbidity rates can reach 100%, while mortality rates are generally low. Subtypes of swine influenza virus (SIV) most frequently identified in pigs include classical and avian H1N1, reassortant (r) H3N2, and rH1N2. In Europe, three main influenza A subtypes (H1N1, H1N2, H3N2) circulate in swine populations.2 The H1N1 and H3N2 subtypes have been enzootic in several swine-producing countries in Europe for more than 20 years.3-5 Surveillance and serological monitoring of influenza in swine populations is essential for adequate control and diagnosis of infection.4 Swine influenza viruses are infectious to people as zoonotic agents. Zoonotic infections have been documented in the United States, Europe, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, in some cases resulting in the death of the people infected.6

Production of monoclonal antibodies against recombinant nucleoprotein of avian influenza virus, serotype H9N2
Background: Avian influenza viruses (AIVs) including the subtype H9N2 cause considerable financial losses to poultry industries. Rapid and accurate diagnosis of avian influenza (AI) infection is important in control and eradication programs. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to produce monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) specific for the nucleocapsid protein )NP (of AIV H9N2 subtype to improve dia...
متن کاملDesigning an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for detection of anti-penicillin antibodies levels in various species of animals in Khuzestan province, Iran
The penicillin allergy is being increasingly recognized as a significant public health problem. Immunological responses to penicillin and other beta-lactam antibiotics are classified as immediate and non-immediate responses. This research aimed to develop an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the detection of the reactive antibody value against penicillin in various species of animals...
متن کاملDevelopment of an Indirect Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay to Detect Antibodies against Serotype A2013 of Foot and Mouth Disease Virus in Cattle
Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a contagious animal disease that causes irreparable damage to the economy of countries, including Iran in which this disease is a native one. Among the ways to combat FMD are vaccination and slaughter. Due to the specific situation of Iran, it is not possible to kill infected animals. Therefore, vaccination is the most important way to fight this disease. S...
متن کاملAdaptation of an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay by purified gp51SU for detection of antibodies to bovine leukemia virus
The objective of this study was to compare an indirect ELISA, based on a purified 60 kDa envelope glycoprotein (gp51SU), with a Pourquire indirect ELISA for the detection of antibodies to the bovine leukemia virus. For conducting this research, 340 serum samples were collected from two different breeds of cows (Sarabi and Holestin) in different herds. Commercial ELISA revealed positive results ...
متن کاملApplying conserved peptides of NS1 Protein of avian influenza virus to differentiate infected from vaccinated chickens
Avian influenza (AI) is a highly contagious disease in poultry and outbreaks can have dramatic economic and health implications. For effective disease surveillance, rapid and sensitive assays are needed to detect antibodies against AI virus (AIV) proteins. In order to support eradication efforts of avian influenza (AI) infections in poultry, the implementation of “DIVA” vaccination strategies, ...
